Around the World with Hans Christian Andersen Minneapolis Theatre reviews
I attended a concert in Denver years ago featuring Around the World with Hans Christian Andersen. It was possibly the best concert experience I have ever had, with my favorite band putting on a mind-blowing show. Chris Degarmo, along with the others, were all present and performing. Geoff Tate, who had an amazing voice, was one of my favorites.
Someone who looked and possibly sounded like Geoff Tate appeared this time, but did not meet my expectations. He was no longer mysterious and intriguing; instead, he came across as cocky, strutting around the stage in a business-like suit. I was impressed that he could play the saxophone and keyboard in addition to singing, but it didn't compare to their prime performance years ago. The sound system was too loud, making the vocals unclear. The sound man should have adjusted it for a better experience.
The band needs to return with a better attitude, showing humility rather than arrogance. Geoff Tate seems to have changed greatly and is struggling to maintain the mystique of his younger years as the frontman for Around the World with Hans Christian Andersen. Without their fans, they are nothing.
